Description

Supply and erection of the steel structure for a residence in the Serra Catarinense region, with 776 m² of built area and more than 40 metric tons of steel distributed among steel beams and columns. The architectural design, signed by the firm Jobim Carlevaro Arquitetos, combines clear ceiling heights, large cantilevers, and complex, rounded geometries, in a solution that integrates precision structural engineering and contemporary architecture.

Challenges

The project involved significant challenges in reconciling the steel structure with the other project disciplines, requiring precise coordination of heights, slopes, recesses, and openings in relation to piping, curtains, ceilings, and baseboards, resolved through integrated engineering in a BIM environment. The architectural requirements of clear ceiling heights and complex, rounded geometries demanded advanced engineering resources, combined with high-technology fabrication processes and qualified erection crews. The construction of the slabs, in a composite concrete and steel solution, required modeling and finite element analysis combined with rigorous field quality control, while the large clear spans and cantilevers, with minimal deformation, called for advanced analysis and precision fabrication.
